Mission, Our Pledge, & Vision

Mission

The mission of NCNW is to lead, develop and advocate for women of African descent as they support their families and communities. NCNW fulfills this mission through research, advocacy, national and community-based services and programs on issues of health, education, and economic empowerment in the United States and Africa.

Our Pledge

It is our pledge to make a lasting contribution to all that is finest and best in America, to cherish and enrich her heritage of freedom and progress by working for the integration of all people regardless of race, creed or national origin into her spiritual, social, cultural and civic life, and thus to aid her to achieve the glorious destiny of a true and unfettered democracy.

Vision

The National Council of Negro Women, Incorporated - North Bronx Section envisions a thriving, sustainable, and resilient presence in our community, remaining steadfast in service and advocacy through even the most challenging times. Guided by our unwavering commitment to the four pillars of our mission - social justice, health equity, voters’ rights, and economic empowerment - we strive to uplift, educate, and inspire. With the strength of Purple Power, we will continue to stand as a beacon of hope, unity, and progress for the North Bronx, ensuring that our legacy endures and our impact grows for generations to come.
