Welcome to the National Council of Negro Women North Bronx Section

NCNW North Bronx Section
President's Message

Welcome
Greetings, and thank you for visiting our website. My name is Lisa Dawson, and I have the great honor of serving as the 18th President of the North Bronx National Council of Negro Women (NCNW). Our section has a proud history, founded in May 17, 1967 by the late Daisy George, who laid the foundation for the vital work we continue today.
At NCNW, we are committed to uplifting African-American women and children in the Northeast Bronx community. Through our advocacy, we strive to empower lives and strengthen families by focusing on four core pillars: social and economic justice, health and wellness, voter registration, and S.T.E.A.M. education.
We believe in taking purposeful steps towards meaningful change, and we are deeply engaged in efforts to unite with other community organizations. Together, we can create a stronger, more resilient community today, so that our youth can carry the torch and build an even brighter tomorrow.
I invite you to join us in this mission—whether through participation, collaboration, or simply staying informed. Every effort counts, and together, we can make a lasting difference.
Warmly,
Lisa Dawson
